Innocent Brothers in prison, another case where a real killer went free

Cameron Simmons and his brother James Grover Simmons were convicted of
the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Kristi Hedden. Hedden, 19,
disappeared from her disabled car just inside the Florida State Line on
Interstate 75. Her body was dumped into the Waccasassa River outside
Bronson. The convictions were based on the testimony of a local
mentally retarded man named James Leonard Burney who claimed to have
participated, but was never arrested or charged. No physical evidence
linked the brothers to the crime, and over 25 alibi witnesses attest
that the brothers were in Georgia at the time of the crime. OpenDocument
I handled Cecil's direct appeal. State's case was based on testimony of mentally defective 32 yoa who cops interviewed many times, implanted false memory in him (like child abuse cases). No doubt in my mind they're innocent. Need a good investigator to look into this. If interested, I'm at rasnde2@comcast.net.
I am a family member of cecil and James. We have waited 26 years for help. If you can provide anyyhing to help with this injustice please help. We dont know where to turn.
Cecil and James both worked for my husband and I and we never had one second of any kind of trouble from them. They were at work the entire day that the murder occured. They were both hard workers and very dependable. We could always count on them and they showed us nothing but respect. I wish someone would help these men with this case.

This case is proof that our justice system is flawed, when two men can be convicted were evidence was presented DNA, fingerprints, eyewitnesses, and None of this could conclude the Simmons' bothers committed this hanous crime. The brothers were solely convicted by the testimony of James Burney a man who has an IQ of 63 who concocted an elaborated story in which no evidence and multiply alibi witnesses, could collaborate his fantasy. Yet, a hand picked jury many of whom worked in the very courthouse where the trail took place, recklessly with prejudice chose to blindly hand down a guilty verdict for both bothers. Conclusion...this case clearly defines the two teared legal system in this country, your fate if arrested will be defined by your monetary wealth. Justice for thee and not for we.

ReplyDeleteCecil is guilty there is no question in my mind. I saw him strangle Kristy and she is at peace now that he is behind bars.
